Missouri Humane Society rescuing animals stranded in flooded areas

After days of rain and stormy weather, river levels were rising and communities were flooded. The Missouri Humane Society took boats and trucks to those areas to save stranded animals.

Areas in Chariton County evacuating due to levee break

One man in the community got in his private plane and took to the skies to take pictures and video of the flooding. I reached out to him over Facebook messenger to talk to him about what he saw.

One confirmed dead in southeast Columbia house fire

Like the story above, being a digital producer requires keeping an eye on social media. I saw this on the Columbia Fire Department's Twitter page, and we were able to send a reporter to the scene before the fire was put out.

MSHP finds body of missing swimmer at Lake of the Ozarks

After an overnight search, the Missouri State Highway Patrol found the body of a man who went missing while swimming. For Troop F, this was the first boating fatality of 2019.
